The word ",Adab" and its semantic change are important issues which semanticists have always been studying. In this article all attempt is to explain the root of ",Adab" and to clarify ambiguities about it. Moreover, semantic change is discussed, from pre-Islamic period up to now. This article also talks about the important causes of semantic development of ,Adab
