  • Abstract
The soils that gained from granitoid rocks is located in W Isfahan and S Tiran. The main minerals consist of quartz, alkali feldspar, plagioclase and ferromagnesian minerals are biotite and amphibole. The most ferromagnesian minerals change to chlorite and secondary minerals. These minerals have very important roal in the plant nutrition. The south Tiran soils are characterized by enrichment in large ion lithophile elements (LILE) such as Rb, Ba, K, Ce and depletion in high field strength elements (HFSE) such as Y, Nb and Zr. These soils have high LREE enrichment [(La/Yb) N = 7.70–10.90] and unfractionated HREE [(Gd/Yb) N N = 1.59 - 2.07] and has a negative of Eu anomalies (Eu/Eu*=0.38-0.53). Potassium such as N and P is a needed element for plants. The light metabolism is reduced by potassium deficiency, Breathing rate increases and carbohydrates reduced eventually. So potassium has very large role in plant nutrition and it will increase the efficiency of nitrogen fertilizers.
