A Comparison of theInfraspinatus Syndrome in the Dominant Arm of Female Power and Speed Volleyball Players

ABSTARCT: Infraspinatuse syndrome is one of common injuries at the shoulder which called “volleyball shoulder”. The purpose of this study was to investigate the prevalence of infra spinatus muscle syndrome and range of motion (ROM) in dominant hand of speed & power elite female athletes. For this reason, 21 elite female athletes (11 power athletes with average height of (176/55?4/93 cm), weight (65/67?9/27 kg) and 10 speed athletes with height (176/55? 4/40 cm), weight (64/25?6/18kg)) of super league and first group league volleyball players voluntarily participated in this study with at least three years experience. Needle and surface electromyography was used for identifying infra spinatuse syndrome and gunia meter was used for measuring ROM. After collection of data we used of Descriptive statistic for describing data and inferential statistics and T independent and dependent test, k square and Pearson correlation coefficient for analyzing of data. The results showed that: there is significant difference in the ROM of power and speed athletes, whereas there isn’t any significant difference in prevalence of infra spinatuse syndrome between them. Further, there is no significant correlation between ROM and infra spinatuse syndrome.
