Abstract :
ABSTRACT: Coaching is a process in which the coach impresses his players, so the respected reaction is being done. The aim of this research was to investigate the relationship between leadership behavior of coaches and success motivation of women players in volleyball teams of Khuzestan province. This study was descriptive correlative, which was done by field study. The statistical population was 122 volleyball women players of Khuzestan province, which was considered as sample. Instruments for gathering Data were Chelladoray Leadership Scale for Sport questionnaire, and, Willis Sport Attitude Inventory questionnaire. Data analyzing was done via descriptive and inferential statistics (Pearson correlation coefficient and multiple regression analysis) in p?0.05 level of signification. The results showed that social support behavior has the most and autocratic behavior the least levels of usage for coaches. Also training and instructing, social support, and positive feedback behaviors had a positive significant relation with success motivation; but there was a negative significant relation between autocratic behavior and success motivation. There was no relation between democratic behavior and success motivation. The results of multiple regression test showed that only social support behavior can predict the success motivation. According to results of the study coaches can use appropriate behaviors in different conditions and situations to create success motivation among their players.
