Green Fodder Yield Performance of Different Varieties ofSorghum grown in an Arid Region

ABSTRACT: This research was conducted in 2008-2010 in Zahak Reaserch Station of Sistan region of Iran. The experimental design was a completely Randomized Block with four replications. Fifteen forage Sorghum (sorghum bicolar L. Moench) cultivars were used in this study to find the high yielding cultivars. The forage yields of the cultivars varied between 153.427-102.019 ton ha-1 in this investigation. Significant differences were observed among the varieties for green fodder yield, and yield components. The variety KFS3 showed the highest green fodder yield potential of 153.427 ton ha-1 followed by KFS18 (143.365 ton ha-1) and KFS1 (141.656 ton ha-1).
