Abstract :
In this paper we are going to have a brief look at routing protocols. We began with some concepts such as routing and routing protocols. Then we investigate different types of routing protocols. They are: Classless Inter-Domain Routing (CIDR), Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS), Asynchronous Transfer Mode (ATM), The Routing Policy Specification Language (RPSL), Routed-SMLT (R-SMLT) and Optical mesh networks routing.
