Abstract :
ABSTRACT: The objectives of this research were to assess genotype-environment (GE) interaction and to determine stable bread wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) genotypes for grain yield in Iran. With the trials conducted in three locations, the adaptation and stability statistics of 20 bread wheat genotypes were estimated for yield performances. Regression coefficient, mean squares of deviation from regression and AMMI model were estimated. The regression coefficient (b) values of the 20 genotypes used in this study ranged from 0.22 to 1.81; deviation from regression ranged from 0 to 2.26. However, based on the linear regression coefficient and average grain yield, line 15, 5, 6 and 19 appeared to be promising because their yields were above the average in all of the environmental conditions of this study. The biplot based on the first bilinear AMMI model terms indicated that genotype 15 and genotype 11 could be suited for cultivation across the test environments.
