Abstract :
The aim of this study was to compare the errors of athletes to those of non-athletes in Neuropsychological Test of Line Bisection Task. The Standard Test of Line Bisection Task consists of 17 black horizontal lines, with a width of 1 mm on each line, inserted on an A4 sheet. The length of lines has changed from 100 to 260 mm, with an average as 183.5 mm. considering the entire lines, five lines are sorted from left to right and five lines from right to left and ten lines are justified in the middle. The participant was requested to mark the middle of each line using a black pencil. In this research, 60 female teenagers who have participated in training Basketball classes for at least three months and continued exercises every day were requested to conduct Line Bisection Task. Considering non-athlete female youngsters, the participating girls have not been involved in any sports fields and they were peers to the first group considering the age (n=57). The comparison done on both groups in the entire test and lines, sorted from left to right, right to left and in the middle have separately revealed that there is a meaningful difference between the two groups in Line Bisection Task. In consideration of difference in the function of brain hemispheres and profile plan as "Athletesʹ Profile", one may present a meaningful and appropriate relationship between psychological and neurological findings and personality among athletes.
