Abstract :
The purpose of this study was to comparison of the effects of maximal aerobic and anaerobic exercise on some airway resistance indexes such as FEV1 (Force Expiration Volume in One Second), FVC (Forced Vital Capacity) and FEV1/FVC of non-athletes females. Subjects were fifteen healthy non-athletes females (age 18-23) from the Azad University of Ilam. The aerobic and anaerobic protocols were maximal aerobic Astrand and maximal anaerobic Wingate tests for females. The testes were performed one session for study. Before and after administrating the testes, FEV1, FVC and FEV1/FVC were measured by digital spirometry. Data were analyzed by using independent t-test to comparing two protocols after test and dependent t-test to comparing each protocol between pre-test and post-test phases. Results showed that there were no significant differences in pulmonary indices between pre-test and post-test after performing maximal aerobic and anaerobic exercise (P > 0.05), however the difference in FEV1 was statistically significant after performing maximal anaerobic exercise (P < 0.05). The results also showed that a significant difference was observed only in FEV1 between maximal aerobic and anaerobic exercise on post-test phase. Based on the results it can be concluded that maximal anaerobic may lead to presence airway resistance signs because of elevation in air speed through airways.
