Abstract :
This work based on the study of scale and corrosion inhibition of ordinary steel in cooling water system by sodium gluconate. This study was carried out by chemical methods, polarization curves and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy coupled by scanning electron microscopy. Initially, we examined its performance inhibition on previously quoted problems. In the second time, our work focuses on the study of the operational parameters effect of SG inhibition efficiency using polarization curves and electrochemical spectroscopy. The results obtained show that SG a very good inhibitor for corrosion and scale. Its capacity improves with rotation electrode, pH and immersion time. It keeps its effectiveness with temperature and in a more aggressive medium such as 3% NaCl
