Computer Assisted Tomography in Patient with Polytrauma

A 27 year old boy had a car ac¬cident (as assistant driver) and was urgently transported to the CCu sarajevo emergency department, where he had a clinical and laboratory examination, chest radiograph and us of abdomen. There was widening of the mediastinum, contusions on the both side of the lung and a small left side pleural effusion. Our finding was acute posttraumatic pseudoaneurysm of aorta descendens. The patient was sent to the surgical unit, and af¬ter 3 days we did the CT again. The treatment was conservative, because there was no pos¬sibility to treat (stenting) pseudoaneurysm in sarajevo. On the first CT we suspected that there could be rupture of diaphragm on the left side, but we thought it wouldnʹt develop so fast. There was posttraumatic herniation of the stomach in the chest-diaphragmatic hernia. The patient was treated in Sarajevo - desincarceratio and repositio of the stomach. Unfortunately we donʹt have a possibility in Sarajevo for stenting the thoracic pseu¬doaneurysm. The patient went to a hospital in Vienna and was treated there. He came back to Sarajevo and he is feeling well now.
