The Most Frequent Causes of Disability in Health Insured Persons in Cazin Municipality

Disability is permanent risk of each health insured person and represents medical, economic-legal and social problem. The aim of this research is to find out the most frequent diseases which cause disability of the health insured persons in Cazin Municipality. The health insured persons have been sent on the appraisal of the working ability to the Board of experts in Bihac at the Institute for Medical Expertise. In the period from January 1st 2007 until December 31st 2008 from the Public-health service for protection of workers of Health Center Cazin, 482 medical findings have been analyzed according to ICD-10 International classification of diseases, injuries and causes of death. The appraisals were as follows: The first (I) and the second (II) categories of disability and persons who have not been appraised as disabled persons: from 482 health insured persons 368 (76.35%) were male and 114 (23.65%) female. The first (I) category of disability have got 230 (47.72%) health insured persons.The second (II) category of disability have got 72 (14.94%) and 180 (37.34%) health insured persons have not been appraised as disabled persons. The most frequent causes of disability of the first (I) category have been appraised in the male group of age from 51-60 (41.18%) and female of the age from 41-50 (46.67%). The majority of health insured persons who were sent to the appraisal were the health insured persons with 16-20 (30.29%) years of working experience. The most frequent causes of disability of the first ( I ) category are: diseases of circulatory system (30,00%) and mental disorders (19,56%) and of second ( II ) category of disability are: injuries and poisonings (34,72%) and diseases of bony-muscular system (13,89%).
