Abstract :
In order to investigate the impact of different cattle manure rates and plant density as well as comparison of two culture methods on yield and yield components of sweet corn, a split-factorial design was conducted as base of randomized complete block design with four replications in Takestan, Iran, in 2009. Cattle manure as main plot in 3 levels (m1= 0, m2= 25, m3= 50 ton/ha) and plant density in 2 levels (d1= 75000, d2= 85000 plant/ha) with culture method in 2 levels (c1= on ridge and c2= on furrow) as sub plots were considered. Results showed that cattle manure had significant effect on row number per ear, grain number per row, grain number per ear, grain yield and 1000 grain weight. The results also revealed that row number per ear was decreased with raising plant density, but the grain yield was increased. The obtained results showed that row number and grain number per ear increased with planting of sweet corn on furrow.
