Abstract :
Achillea wilhelmsii is widely found in different parts of Iran. Extract of this plant, wildly grows in different parts of Iran has shown anti-hypertensive and anti-hyperlipidemic activity in human. This plant has flavonoids and sesquiterpene lactones, which have been shown to be effective in lowering blood lipids and hypertension. The subject of this experiment is identification of essential oil components of A. wilhelmsii from two regions of Mamassani, Sardasht and Chamgol in Iran. The yield of the oil in the Sardasht was higher than Chamgol. The major oil components of the Sardasht region were linalool, 1,8-cineole, ?-pinene, spathulenol, viridiflorol camphor and (3E)-cemberene A. The major oil components of the Chamgol region were (3Z)-cemberene A, linalool, spathulenol, ?-cadinol, viridiflorol, (Z)-lanceol acetate, davanone and cubenol.
