Abstract :
The quadrupole moments and deformation parameters of even-even neutron rich nuclei Cd from N = 64 to 74 have been reported using interacting boson model (IBM-1). The value of quadrupole moments (Q8+) of 112Cd, 114Cd, 116Cd, 118Cd and 120Cd are 1.907, 2.002, 2.057, 1.974 and 1.688 respectively. The value of deformation parameters of 112Cd, 114Cd, 116Cd, 118Cd and 120Cd are 0.1122, 0.1176, 0.1182, 0.1121 and 0.0949. Moreover, we have studied the systematic intrinsic quadrupole moments and deformation parameters as a function of even neutrons from N = 64 to 74. The calculated results of quadrupole moments and deformation parameters are consistent with reference values.
