The determination of Citrus tristeza virus strains in the North of Iran

ABSTRACT: So far CTV has not been reported in the north of Iran (Golestan province), but some suspicious symptoms of this disease have been observed in some of nurseries in recent years. So in order to detect CTV and the determination of citrus tristeza virus strain some samplings of important gardens of the province have been done in 2006-7years and were tested through ADS-ELISA method via polyclonal antiserum CTV .The results of two years research have shown the infection has been positive in reaction to ELISA test on unsho mandarin cultivar in the regions like Gorgan, Chanbeben and Bandargaz. In order to determine CTV strain, vein yellowing of Mexican lime appeared via grafting on test plant (Mexican lime, grape fruit, orange and sour orange) which shows the existence of Stem Pitting in Golestan province ( north of Iran ).
