Abstract :
ABSTRATC: The application of watershed management plays an essential role in soil and water conservation, as well as in social issues, both scientifically and economically. In most countries, the evaluation of watershed management projects goes through specific objectives and is not new at all. The type of structure and its correct selection, as well as the mechanical and biological measures consistent with environmental conditions, play an important role in water and soil conservation. Lack of precision in the choice of structure and lack of consistency with the project location without paying attention to predicted specifications, structure composition, and biological measures, as well as a lack of care for the measures taken, not only do not lead to erosion prevention, but also cause damage. This study was an attempt to evaluate watershed management operations and the measures taken in Masooleh Roodkhan region using appropriate methods. There is no significant difference between the results from investigating technical and mechanical operations and comparing them with official measures (consistency between the anticipated operation volume and the actual comparative performance). Vegetation factors in terms of coverage, capacity and status have risen to 0.2% per animal unit (now) from 0 percent (before) - Gabioni Dams: 76%, KhoshkeChin Dam: 90%, and Chapari Dam: 83%. The results and success rates of all the launched mechanical and biological structures are as follows: Gabioni Dams: 41.9%, Chapari Dam: 77.9%, KhoshkeChin Dam: 40%, plant cultivation: 50%, sowing seeds 87%, and seed cultivation: 85%. Therefore, regarding the objectives of the operation on the part of Guilan’s Watershed Management Office and carried-out evaluations of mechanical and biological structures of the project, we can rate as positive sediment control of the basin, preventing sediment from entering the River Massoleh, as well as flood control and prevention in order to conserve soil and save possible damages to the villagers.
