The Effects of Combine Type and Wheat Variety on Losses harvesting in Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari province (IRAN)

ABSTRACT: Wheat is one of the most important food staff in consumption pattern of each country. More than 50 percent of energy is provided by bread in the developing countries. The aim of this study was measuring wheat losses during harvest stage in Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari province of Iran in 2011. Wheat losses at harvest stage were measured to wheat varieties; Sardari and Omid and combine models, which 955 and 1055. The data analyzed using and means were compared using SAS Software and Duncanʹs Multiple Range Tests were. The results showed that higher amount of losses were in the Omid variety and John Deere 955 with totally 6.08 percent (311.9 kg ha-1) that 12.75 percent of them attributed on the cleaning, 41.4 percent on Header, 21.4 percent on Drum and 24.45 percent on impurities. The lowest losses related to John Deere1055 and Sardari variety with 2.94 percent (150.85 kg ha-1) that 14.65 percent of them attributed on the cleaning, 39.7 percent on Header, 19.5 percent on Drum and 26.15 percent on impurities. Also, average pre-harvest losses amount was in all fields the study31.4 kg ha-1 that 12.71 percent of total losses present the measured total losses Sardari 24.2 kg ha-1 and the variety of Omid 37.6 kg ha-1.
