Synthesis of a new class of 3-methyl-1-substituted-3H-1

Synthesis of 3-Methyl-1-substituted-3H-1?5-benzo [4,5]imidazo[1,2-c] [1,3,2] oxazaphosphol-1-one was accomplished by two pathways, firstly, in single step various substituted phosphorodichloridates are treated directly and secondly, through a two step process involving preparation of the monochloride (2) and its subsequent reaction with various phenols and amines in dry tetrahydrofuran (THF) in the presence of triethylamine (TEA) at various temperatures from 1-(1Hbenzo[d]imidazol-2-yl)ethanol (1). All the new compounds were characterized by IR, 1H-, 13C-, 31P-NMR, mass spectral data and elemental analysis.
