Design and antiproliferative activity of 2-(3,5-dihydroxyphenyl)-6-hydroxybenzothiazole (DHB) on PC-3 prostate cancer cell line

2-(3,5-Dihydroxyphenyl)-6-hydroxybenzothiazole (DHB) has been synthesized and characterized. The antiproliferative activity of DHB against cancer cells lines had been previously reported. Herein, we show that DHB inhibits the growth of human prostate cancer PC-3 with an IC50 value of 45 ?M in a dose/time dependent manner by using Sulforhodamine B (SRB) assay. The present analysis of PC-3 revealed suppression of clonogenic activity after exposure to DHB at a concentration of 40 ?? for PC-3.
