KAl(SO4)2.12H2O an efficient heterogeneous alternative for one-pot synthesis of -acetamido ketones

An efficient and improved procedure for the synthesis of -acetamido ketones is developed by a solid acid catalyzed reaction. Enolizable ketones have been reacted in one-pot method with aromatic aldehydes, acetyl chloride and acetonitrile at room temperature with KAl(SO4)2.12H2O as a catalyst.
