Heteropolyacid –Catalyzed Efficient and Convenient Synthesis of 2-Substituted Benzimidazoles

o-Phenylenediamine readily reacts with benzoyl chloride derivatives in the presence of Keggin type heteropolyacids as catalyst to yield 2-substituted benzimidazoles in very good yields.
