Solvent-free synthesis of bis(indolyl)methanes catalyzed by CAN

Indoles and carbonyl compounds undergo a rapid electrophilic substitution reaction in the presence of a catalytic amount of CAN, under solvent-free conditions, to afford the corresponding bis(indolyl)methanes in excellent yields.
