Odd Power Divisor Functions in Positive Characteristic

In positive characteristic any two generating functions of odd power divisor functions are algebraically dependent via separable relations. Classically this is proved in the context of the theory of integral modular forms. We provide an alternative proof based on the explicit canonical isomorphism between the formal groups of the Tate curve and the multiplicative group scheme
