Splitting Syzygies,

We obtain results about splittings of syzygy modules, either directly, or after base change in the context of various types of lifting. In this way, we generalize results obtained previously in the context of deformations defined by regular sequences that had application in deformation theory and the theory of maximal Cohen–Macaulay modules.
