Endomorphisms of elliptic curves and undecidability in function fields of positive characteristic

Using the theory of elliptic curves, we develop techniques by which we prove that the theory of a function field F(t) of positive characteristic p 5, in the language of rings augmented by a symbol for t, is undecidable.
