Abstract :
The purpose of this paper is twofold: (1) to remove the possible exceptional cases in a theorem of Ishibashi and Earnest on two-element generation of orthogonal groups over finite fields, and (2) to obtain a result on generation by symmetries for orthogonal groups over finite fields of characteristics 2.
