On the classification and enumeration of self-dual codes

This article is a survey of the current status of the classification and enumeration of self-dual linear codes of small to moderate lengths over the fields , , and and the rings , , and . Self-duality is considered using a variety of inner products. We also examine formally self-dual binary codes and additive self-dual codes over .
