Irreducible polynomials with consecutive zero coefficients

Let q be a prime power. We consider the problem of the existence of monic irreducible polynomials over with consecutive coefficients fixed to zero. We show that asymptotically, there exist monic irreducible polynomials of degree n over with roughly n/3 consecutive coefficients fixed to zero.
