Angle distortion and conformality

We offer an alternative to the usual proofs for the equivalence between conformality and analyticity with nonzero derivative. Our proof uses the z̄-derivative to quantify angle distortion, and thereby foreshadows some important ideas in the study of quasiconformal mappings.
