The radioactivity measurement of Turkish lignites

This is a study on the radioactivity of Turkish lignites in which the gamma spectrometric technique has been used for the determination of activity levels of naturally occurring radionuclides 238U, 232Th, 40K, 226Ra and fallout radionuclides 137Cs and 134Cs in lignites taken from 12 different parts of Turkey by the Mineral Research and Exploration Institute of Turkey. Concentrations of 238U, 232Th, 226Ra, 40K, 137Cs and 134Cs were found up to 52, 37, 207, 163 Bq kg−1, LLD, ND, respectively.
