Abstract :
IJMR could not function without the selfless support of a large number of referees who give their time freely
to ensure that high quality papers are published in the journal. Selecting the appropriate referees is essential in
ensuring the review process is fair to those who submit their work to IJMR. We are very grateful to all those
scholars who respond quickly to emails and take on reviews with tight deadlines. As a result we have been able
to reduce the time to first decision to 8 weeks which is welcome to the editorial board and to authors who are
under increasing pressure for timely publication of their research. For those of you who have not reviewed for
the journal but would like to do so you can register as a reviewer through the IJMR portal at http://
mc.manuscriptcentral.com/ijmr.
We would like to formally thank those listed below who provided reviews for the journal in 2011. Many
reviews we received over the year were excellent and provided authors with clear and perceptive guidance on
how to develop their papers. However, we would also like to acknowledge specifically the outstanding
contributions by a few reviewers who provided excellent reviews over the period, and whose insightful and
supportive feedback helped authors improve their papers substantially. In consultation with the editorial board,
Andrew Brown, Almuth McDowall and Hong Ren, were included in our shortlist for reviewer of the year:
However, in recognition of her thorough, helpful and perceptive comments we selected Dr Julia Richardson of
York University, Canada as reviewer of the year for 2011.
