A three-decade Acacia mangium

Acacia mangium, one of the 1,200 species of genus Acacia was first introduced into Sabah in 1966 (Anonymous 1982). Realising the excellent growth rate of the trees planted at the trial plots, a pilot plantation of this species was later established in 1976 by the Sabah Softwoods Sdn. Bhd. Since then, plantations of Acacia mangium have been extensively established in other parts of Malaysia and throughout the tropical countries.(copy from article)
