Abstract :
Romanticism as an artistic, philosophical movement was an innovation in the expression of feeling and emotion. This school was a reaction against all restrictions imposed by Neo-classicism. Romanticism is a profound literary revolution which culminates in the production of highly individualistic works. This movement arrived the Arab world while it had passed its prime in Europe. The Arab countries which were undertaking some miserable historical transformations welcome this school. As a poet deeply influenced by Romanticism, Shabi brilliantly represented Romanticism in Tunisia, though he lived a short life. This paper will study the elements of Romanticism in the poetry of Shabi.

يعتبر المذهب الرومانسي الذي يعتمد علي اسس فلسفيه خاصه يعتبر في اوّل ظهوره تجديدا في طريق الاحساس والتفكير والتعبير، انّه ثوره ضدّ القيود التي فرضتها الكلاسيكيّه، انّه تغيير في مجال الادب والفن اثمر عن ظهور نتاج ذاتي متحرّر. والرومانسيّه عندما وصلت الي العالم العربي كان عهد ازدهارها قد انقضي في البلاد الاوروبيه، لكنّ العالم العربي كان يمرّ بمرحلهٍ من تاريخه تماثل في ظروفها الماساويّه المتدهوره العصر الرومانسيّ في اوروبّا. و«الشابّي» - كشاعرٍ تاثّر بالتيّار الرومانسي استطاع - رغم قصر عمره - ان يمثِّل المذهب الرومانسي في تونس احسن تمثيل، وان يسهم في نشره الي حدٍّ بعيدٍ. فجا هذا المقال وعلي اساس من المنهج التفسيري ليكشف عن اهمّ المضامين الرومانسيه التي تجلت في شعر الشابي.
