Abstract :
Place receives a paramount importance in the novel, not only because it is an element in the story, or it is the context in which events occur or characters move in it, but because in some outstanding works it becomes a space which encompasses all of the storiesʹ elements, including events and characters, and covers their inter relationship.When the place finds a way into the story, it achieves Ideological or Psychological meaning. It is possible to analyze the novel via exploring the meaning of the place. The place includes objects, colors, sounds, odors, and these show characterʹs emotions and thoughts. Place In the "Season of Migration to the North" novel consists of room, village and home. Place in this novel has Ideological meaning, because it shows the identity.

يكتسب المكان في الروايه اهميه كبيره، لا لانه احد عناصرها الفنيه، او لانه المكان الذي تجري فيه الحوادث، وتتحرك خلاله الشخصيات فحسب، بل لانه يتحول في بعض الاعمال المتميزه الي فضا يحتوي كل العناصر الرواييه، بما فيها من حوادث وشخصيات، وما بينها من علاقات. ثمّه افتراق كبير بين المكان في الواقع والمكان في الروايه؛ ان المكان في الروايه ليس هو المكان في الواقع الخارجي ولو سمّاه الروايي باسم له مسمّي في الخارج، ان المكان الروايي لفظي متخيل تصنعه اللغه حتي يقوم في خيال المتلقي. المكان عندما يدخل في عالم الروايه يصبح دالا يدلّ علي مدلول ايديولوجي او سايكولوجي نستطيع ان نستفيد من دراسته في تحليل الروايه. ثم ان المكان يشمل ما فيه من الاشيا والالوان والاصوات والروايح وهذه الاجزا تدلّ علي احاسيس الشخصيه وافكارها.
اصبح المكان في هذه الروايه ذات دلاله ايديولوجيه فكريه، فالمكان امتداد لهويه الانسان وانتمايه.
