Self-esteem and health behavior: Theoretic and empirical links

Self-esteem has been the focus of research studies attempting to link psychologic factors to health. Lack of clarity in the definition of self-esteem has made interpretation of research findings difficult. Refining the definition of self-esteem may clarify theoretic and empirical links.
