Abstract :
The following interview includes material transcribed from tapes of face-to-face interviews
in Ann Arbor, Michigan, on August 4 and August 5, 2009, as well as material
from a public interview that composed the final session of A Symposium in Honor of
Richard W. Bailey, held December 6, 2008, at the University of Michigan. After verbatim
transcription, the interviewer selected segments of the various interviews, edited
the text lightly for clarity, and supplied punctuation throughout.
