Abstract :
CH3CF2H was degraded by the photolysis with 185 nm light (185), the photocatalysis with 254 nm light on TiO2(TiO2 + 254), and the combination of photolysis and photocatalysis (TiO2 + 185). Degradation rate of the photolysis was close to that of the photocatalysis. But the photolysis produced oxygenated intermediate products, while the photocatalysis produced fewer intermediates. Degradation rate was largest with TiO2 + 185 which was nearly twice as large as that of either 185 or TiO2 + 254. However the complete mineralization was not achieved by TiO2 + 185, whereas a nearly stoichiometric amount of CO2 was produced by TiO2 + 254.
