Optimization processes of a CO2 measurement set-up for assessing biodegradability of polymers

A method originating in the measurement of biological activity of soils was adapted and optimized to assess biodegradability of polymers in controlled composting conditions. 2 g sample embedded in 80 g compost aerated at 70 mlmin−1 was found as an optimal set-up to reach an adequate amount of determined CO2.
