Abstract :
Filtration, adsorbtion or even heat transfer in pebble heaters represent technical processes directly or indirectly pertaining to diverse gas cleaning procedures depending on flow of particle loaded fluid through porous media. Thereby an important prerequisite of any technical design is the determination of the pressure drop occurring in the flow. In particular practical aspects of fIlter operation, design of the fIlter cleaning by reverese flow or even marketing problems arising with the introduction of a new fIlter media or fIltration techniques require the analysis of the pressure drop accross the fIlter medium at a broad range of Reynolds numbers
