Partially Hyperbolic Σ-geodesic Flows

The paper deals with examples of partially hyperbolic flows motivated by the study of the Σ-geodesic flows corresponding to (second order) mechanical systems with constraints. Suitable conditions properly decouple its variational equation and imply the hyperbolic properties of the trajectories. The cases of a general Lie group and of a semi-simple Lie group are analyzed
