Abstract
A series of 20-n-alkylpregnanes and their triaromatic analogs have been tentatively identified in crude oils and source rock extracts from the Western Canada Sedimentary Basin. When found in oils in this basin, these compounds may serve as molecular indicators for source input from the Uppermost Devonian–Mississippian epicontinental black shales. Crown copyright
