Abstract
Fourier analysis of multibeam interference shows that the total electric field and relative time delay of the beams form a Fourier-transform pair. Fourier-analysisbased multibeam interference analysis and device design is discussed in detail. The principle of the proposed segment-deformable-mirror-based adaptive spectrum attenuator is illustrated.
