A new dual coagulant for water purification

A possibility of production of the dual Al–Fe coagulant by sulphuric acid treatment of the new raw material—Estonian glauconite—has been shown. The composition, properties and use of refined coagulants were investigated. The liquid coagulants contained about 5% of active elements in terms of Al2O3, the solid ones about 15–16%. The content of heavy and toxic elements in the purified water did not exceed the maximum permissible level.
