In the Name of God Cultural Relativity and Its Criticism

ABSTRACT: one of the important and general aspects in post modernism period is the relativist attitude towards everything including culture. Accordingly, investigating the concept of culture, historical destiny, and the beliefs and views about it are among the main concerns of sociological thinkers. It is worth mentioning that few books relating to the bases of sociology can be found with no cultural issues; in most of them the issue of cultural relativity, or ethnicity which is its opposite point, has been examined and taken into account. However, prponents and opponents of cultural relativity are not the same in all of the cases. Analyzing the theory of cultural relativity and its opposite concept, this paper seeks to analyze and examine the absoluteness or relativity of the culture based on the religious principles and also presents a third view and attitude under the title of "right-orientation".
