Abstract :
ABSTRACT: Sunn pest is one of the most important pests in wheat fields. Airplane used to combat this pest in the already decades. The air sprayers were now obsolete and introduced Turbo-liners sprayers, according to agricultural policies and environmental pollution in recent years. Spray droplets arenʹt reached to target effectively in these sprayers and polluted environment. Therefore, the appropriate sprayer was designed and built. The first year of this study was designed and built a tractor 8 meters boom sprayer equipped with nozzle of blower to work within 8 meters. Then, the second year compared and evaluated with Turbo-liner Sprayer, conventional Boom sprayer, Air assisted boom sprayer ,Micron-air sprayer and Atomizer sprayer in Randomized Complete Block Design with four replication. The study was conducted in one of the fields that infested to Sunn pest in Hashtgerd region . Parameters were percentage of dead pests, percentage of crop damages, field capacity and efficiency, spraying steady and percentage of coating. MSTAT-C software was used for data analysis. The results showed that treatment using Boom sprayer with Air assisted had the highest mortality percentage of pests, and other treatments were the next group. High percentage of drift at 1% confidence level, and Turbo-liner and Micron-air sprayers were first group and air Assisted Boom sprayer was in the lowest group, in aspect of drift percentage. Turbo-liner Sprayer had the highest theoretical and effective capacity, Auto-mizer and Micron-air sprayers had the lowest capacity. There was no significant in terms of field efficiency. The Boom and Turbo-liner sprayers had the highest (10.5%) and lowest crop damage respectively. The Air assisted sprayer was the highest group in terms of dead pests percentage and other treatments were next groups. These results showed that the Air assisted sprayer covered all canopy parts of wheat crop. The Quality of coefficient in last sprayer was less than other treatments so, itsʹ spraying uniformity was more than rest treatments. Most and least of covering was related to treatment with Air assisted and Turbo-liner sprayers in 1% confidence level respectively.
