Synthesis of lactosamine derivatives using β- -galactosidase from Bacillus circulans

Various lactosamine derivatives that are versatile building blocks for oligosaccharide synthesis were obtained with excellent regioselectivity and moderate to high yields using β- -galactosidase from Bacillus circulans as the biocatalyst.
