Abstract :
A simple procedure has been developed for the synthesis of α-glycosyl cyanides: reactions of O-benzylated ethyl 1-thio-glycosides of -fucose and -glucose, with TMSCN and MeOTF in ether exclusively gave the corresponding α-glycosyl cyanides in good yields.
