Abstract
The synthesis and hepatoprotective activity of 6-aryl-3-substituted-4-methylthio-2H-pyran-2-ones (3, 5, 7) and the corresponding 2-thiones (6), 6-aryl-4-methylthio-2H-pyran-2-ones (4) and 6-aryl-3-carbethoxy-5-cyano-4-methylthio-2H-pyran-2-ones are described.
