Facile synthesis of N-protected γ and δ-Amino-β-Keto-esters

The C-acylation of Meldrumʹs acid by protected amino acids, using isopropenyl chloroformate (IPCF) as the condensing agent, is described. The process is used to synthesize γ and δ-amino-β-keto-esters.
